Hello, we will be arriving July 15 with children under 6. We are concerned about jellyfish stings and some remedies. Also we are looking for a 3-4 hour inland water fish charter for 2 adults. And of course any real weather updates for that week.
thanks in advance
Hilton Head canoe/kayak fishing /weather/jellyfish stings?
In South Carolina waters we generally do not have the kinds of really dangerous jellyfish that you hear about in some other parts of the world. Even so, occasionally someone gets a sting. Even a little sting can be a problem for an allergic person and can be upsetting to a small child.
What is in the ocean in any given area changes constantly. The rule is that if you see a lot of jellyfish washed up on the beach, there are probably some in the water as well. Since you are going to Hilton Head, you can be sure that there are well-train guards and other personel who can treat the problem if it occurs. There are lots of salty home remedies for jellyfish stings, but consulting an expert is always the best course of action. The guards will also be able to advise you as to whether there is anything to be concerned about on a particular day. If there is a particularly serious problem of any kind, you will see postings.
