Call ahead for Margaritaville @Broadway is it worth 2hr wait

I just called to see if Margaritaville does call ahead seating and the lady I spoke with took my info on the date and time (7/2/06 7pm)

I wanted to come and she told me we would still wait about 2hrs

Is this place worth the wait?? Can we shop while we wait?

She said the band starts at 9:30 and we should just be getting seated...talk about a late dinner.

Consider yourself lucky as even the call ahead seating fills fast! I%26#39;ve seen this place have 4 and 5 hour waits for dinner....is it worth it?? Well, guess if your a Parrothead, we%26#39;ll wait for just about anything if a good boat drink is involved! :)

it is an interesting place, and the bands are very talented! One of my favs there is Painted Man....you can shop a bit wile you are waiting, you have these handy little pagers, and the gift shop there at the restaurant is really nice too...and to be honest, I%26#39;ve never waited more than hour with call ahead seating.....have fun!

We went early in the day and went right in(there was a short line by the time we left), I guess alot of people where at the beach. It%26#39;s different and well worth checking out IMHO. %26#39;Course I%26#39;m a longtime Parrothead. We%26#39;ll go back this year.

Another cool place to check out is the House of Blues. They have a breakfast buffet that last year was never crowded. Unique atmosphere and they cook your eggs/omelet to order.

Parrothead family here...

we had a reservation .. last year.. but it really rained that day...

and we got in... 1hr.. early...

I enjoy the atmosphere, we went for lunch.. and for dinner...

Anybody know the outside deck is a good place to see the fireworks (normal Tuesday fireworks, not 4th of July)?

Margaritaville is a VERY LARGE restaurant....cannot imagine waiting 2 to 4 hours. If this is true, there are plenty of shops, etc...to keep you occupied for some time. Food is average, atmosphere is unique and fun, but not worth a 2-4 hour wait.

Margartiaville is a VERY POPULAR restaurant, and beleive me...it can be anywhere from that 2 to 4 hour wait (or sometimes you cant even get in!) of course, that for the folks wanting to dine there for the evening meal....the lunch crowd isnt has busy....so if you dont want to wait, then I would suggest doing lunch and not dinner. It is a unique place...and with all the shops around, it%26#39;s amazing how fast a few hours can pass.

As for the outdoor deck....if you can find a seat there on Tuesday nights for the fireworks, it wouldnt be a bad place to see the show...most people will crowd on the bridge, or along the banks of the lake. The canopy on the deck can get in the way of seeing all of the display.

:)

I tried to get a reservation for Tuesday July 4th and they said they are all full and noone will get in without the call ahead. I also thought that would be a good place to watch the fireworks at Broadway...anymore suggestions on where to eat that we might could watch the fireworks?

The night we had dinner .. we did not have reservations.. and it was a 2 hr... wait.. but ncgator. is right.. lots of shops.. to occupy the time..

You might try Senor Frogs...they have a pretty large deck, or Amicis, you can find their phone #%26#39;s at www.broadwayatthebeach.com

Good Luck! Most places will be pretty busy, and a number of places do not take reservations.

:)

Have you tried the Hard Rock? You can go on line and do call ahead seating. We did this last year and instead of the hour + wait we walked right to our table.
