Hilton Oceanfront or Marriott

I%26#39;m planning a trip to HHI later in the summer and need some advice. I would like to stay at either the Hilton Oceanfront Resort or the Hilton Head Marriott Beach and Golf Resort. I%26#39;ve read numerous reviews on both with good and bad comments for each. As of right now I%26#39;m leaning more towards the Hilton because it seems to have more of a tropical feel but I%26#39;ve read that the Marriott B%26amp;G Resort has just had some major upgrades. Can anyone give me some solid advice on which would be the better place to stay?

Hilton Oceanfront or Marriott

Both hotels are located in Palmetto Dunes. The Hilton however is behind the gate. It is definately the more informal of the two.

the marriott changed ownership earlier this year. and as noted there has been major upgrades done to the venue. As a hotel it is more of a convention venue than the Hilton, tho the Hilton does have meeting facilities.

Both have tiki Bars on the beach and other hotel amenities including childrens programs.

The hilton rooms are more like Lanai Suites, and the hotel has also upgraded in the last two years.
