Condo Rental - List of things to bring?

We%26#39;ve never done the ';conda/villa'; thing so I%26#39;m not sure what I need to bring. We are renting in Pawleys Plantation for a week and I could use some tips on what to bring. I assume they come with linens, glasses, etc. I don%26#39;t plan on doing much cooking, maybe just coffee in the am and some afternoon snacks, etc. Any helpful tips or lists??Thanks

Condo Rental - List of things to bring?

Whenever we go to the beach, I always make a huge pan of lasagne a day or two before we leave home, which I freeze. When we get to our condo the day we arrive, I just put it in the oven while we take a walk on the beach. Dinner is ready when we get back, and we have some leftovers for lunch the next day.. Plus I have my own large pan to cook something later in the week in. Maybe chicken ......

You might want to bring a small bottle of dish detergent and laundry detergent. Usually the supplies in the kitchen are pretty minimal, I have found. Just the basics. When you get to the condo, just check and see what is there ....like paper supplies, TP, salt and pepper, etc. Then when you go to the store you can stock up.

Or, you might want to bring your own from home, IF you have room in your vehicle.

Also, call the condo rental people and ask what supplies are in the condo.

Double check on the linens. Some places they%26#39;re part of the contract. Some places they aren%26#39;t. Some places have complete service. Turn towels in and get clean ones every day.

We rent from Elliott and pay a little extra for linens. Saves space when packing the car. Laundry not included but still worth the added cost.

Bring your own soap, shampoo and conditioner type stuff. Some places have the small motel type bottles that only last long enough for one shower.

Yes you should find dishes and glasses at the condo. Several pots and pans along with most of your utinsels. Have stayed at some places that give you a check list. If by some chance you find something missing they get it replaced.

In the kitchen you should find the fridge totaly bare. Might even be turned way down and ice maker off so check that as soon as you get there. You might find salt and pepper there and maybe some dish washing soap depending on what previous renters left. Anything you need can be found at local grocery store.

I%26#39;m a soft sheet freak and also have some detergent allergies, so I bring my own sheets. I know that%26#39;s kinda odd.

I usually bring some coffee filters from home, the basket kind are most common, so that I don%26#39;t have to buy an entire box when I go to the maket to pick up a few things. Since we sweeten our coffee, I bring some of the sweetener we use as well, again so I don%26#39;t have to buy an entire package. Keeping with my not wanting to buy entire new packages of stuff, I bring an assortment of zip loc bags and a few paper plates and plastic solo cups. Oh, and my coffee scoop. I used to take table napkins, but papertows are inexpensive so I just buy em and leave em for the next person.

Since we usually use so few real dishes I don%26#39;t like to use the dishwasher, so I bring dish washing cloths (they are disposable cloths pretreated with dish soap, just wet them and they suds up.) If I think I%26#39;m going to have to do laundry I take some laundry soap in a shampoo bottle or something similar ... but I really try to avoid doing laundry while on vacation.

oh yeah, and a couple scented candles ... just to make it smell homey. ( =

Be sure to double check, the condo we are staying in in September provides sheets, but not towels - not a huge deal, just want to know about what you have to bring before you leave, and when you arrive there are no surprizes!

Just a thought, the above candles are a good suggestion, but I always bring a few glade plug in airfresheners, then I don%26#39;t have to worry about the flame, the fresh scent lasts the whole vacation. (Especially good in the bathrooms!)

I am going to put the lasanga suggestion to use, I sometimes get sick of restuarant food, so lunches at the condo, or a supper or two are no big deal, get a few prepared meals and volia it is done! I usually bring all my favourite spices in little jars, then I can whip up something easy if I feel like it.

Also, my may want to look into bringing your own beach chairs, and umbrella, unless you rent them.

We do the Staufer%26#39;s frozen lasagna from Wally World. Much easier and probably as good as home made. Comes in huge family size pan.

Last year wife packed some from here. We came down a day early and stayed one night in motel before our regular check in. Forgot about the lasagna. Didn%26#39;t thaw out but packaging got very very soggy. This year we%26#39;ll buy some from there.
