Interesting Churches in Charleston

In visiting older cities, I always enjoy going through some of the churches. What are some of the more interesting churches in charleston. Are they open for reflection during the day.

Interesting Churches in Charleston

We have some amazing churches to visit since we are known as the holy city! Downtown (and this is just a small listing) I would visit St. Phillips, St. Michaels, the Circular Congretational Church, Mt Zion AME, and the Cathedral of St. John. My list could go on and on.

I know that there is a new walking tour that is called the Church Tour of Charleston. ( I could be wrong on the exact name) I lasts about 1.5-2 hours. She takes you into a number of the Churches.

You might want to call the Visitors Center and 843-853-8000. I know that they have more information.

Old St. Andrews Church on Ashley River Road going out to Middleton and Magnolia Gardens is celebrating her 300th anniversary. She has just undergone a million dollar historically correct refurbishment. There is also an interesting graveyard.
