Hotels with best pools???

I am planning a week-long trip to Charleston with my family which includes my two kids aged 9 and 14. I have been reading a lot and have a pretty good idea of things to do, so now I have to find the perfect hotel. My kids%26#39; only requirement is that it has a nice pool. We considered Folly Beach, but my hubby prefers to get the ';downtown experience.'; Any ideas for a nice hotel with a super-cool pool? Thanks!

glory, I can%26#39;t speak for the downtown hotels, but the Town and Country Inn, on Savannah Highway about 10-15 minutes from downtown has two pools! One is inside, with a nice workout area with stairsteppers and stationary bikes upstairs so you can still see the pool. I believe there is a juice bar in there as well. The other pool is, I believe, indoor/outdoor - but don%26#39;t quote me on that cause I ain%26#39;t sure.

The Mills House Hotel, in the historic district, has a lovely pool on the roof. The Inn at Middleton Place (historic plantation, but not in town) has a pool. There may be some B%26amp;B%26#39;s in the historic district that have pools.

Otherwise, you might have to stay in a less historic area to find what your kids are looking for. There is not a lot of space in downtown Charleston for a ground-level, outdoor, hotel pool. A number of the old homes have pools; but, of course, those are private. In public areas, there is more emphasis on gardens and parks.

Don%26#39;t despair. It is very easy to drive into Charleston and park the car for the day. parking lots are cheap and convenient..
