Condo Refunds

My family %26amp; I always stay at resort hotels but my sis is wanting to do a girls %26amp; kids weeks at a condo through VRBO.

We are considering this in Sept. or Oct. during hurricane season! Has anyone had any experience on refunds or rebooking so as not to loose the deposit?

I realize this can happen at hotels but the deposit is usually much smaller and I find that if you want to change your reservation (rather than cancel) they are much more forgiving and your entire deposit.

Any comments?

I can%26#39;t believe I didn%26#39;t think of travel insurance! I always buy insurance (travel guard) for cruises %26amp; All-Inclusives but consider MB such a casual vacation that it didn%26#39;t occur to me.
