Anyone been to Myrtle Beach in November?
Is is warm enough to lie on the beach and swim?
November
I%26#39;ve been there then but didn%26#39;t lay out. the temp was around the low 70%26#39;s when i was there so I gues you could. but it can be a hit or miss thing with the temps in november. just watch the weather channel.
November
No, not really. Some days the air is warm enough to lay-out, but the Ocean temps average about 61 degrees in November (from www.nodc.noaa.gov website). Generally, any swimming will have to be done in an indoor pool. The sun will be warm enough for any type of activity (golf, etc), but not really warm enough to lay out and get a sun tan.
November is a great time to be at the beach because the summer vacationers are gone and the winter golfers haven%26#39;t arrived. However, there are quite a few businesses that are closed at that time of year.
Early November will bring warmer weather and longer days. Later November will bring the Christmas decorations and shows (both are wonderful in MB).
We have been to MB four times the first week in November. One time it was very nice. Once it was sunny, a bit chilly and a lot of breeze. Twice it was cold, rainy and miserable.
Maybe you will be luckier than we were. But I don%26#39;t think it will be warm enough to swim. But if it is sunny, you could enjoy the beach with long sleeves or a light jacket.
Spring and Fall are great times of the year to visit Myrtle Beach area. Golf courses will be croweed, beaches will not. Air and water will be cool, but that never stopped us from going and walking the beach....swimming is another thing. Noticing you are from CT, you may be OK w/ water temps, but probably will be in the 60%26#39;s. If you can arrange for Oct., vs. Nov, water may be more tolerable.
