Some posters have asked what the building is that was recently constructed on Lagoon Road near the Piggly Wiggly in Coligny Plaza.
It is Hilton Head%26#39;s newest Restaurant %26#39;Vasillis%26#39;. The owner is Nick who in the past has owned a number of restaurants on the island, including the Diner, Pasta Garden, Nicks Steak and Seafood, and Stacks.
He is devoting his full time to managing this new venue. We ate there last night. The food is great, and the menu is more like a high class steakhouse than a greek or mediterrian restaurant.
The prices match those of a steakhouse, so this is a special place and not something for a casual evening out.
At this time they do not have their liquor license, so they are offering setups and wine corkage without a charge. Our party of four brought two bottles from home, which they opened and served properly.
If you are staying in Shipyard or Forest Beach and want a special night, give this one a try.

My husband and I eat there Wednesday night. The food is wonderful. One of the best we had on this visit. It was a bit funny buying beer from the local gas station and carrying it into a restaurant in a brown paper bag. We were told that they should have their liquor license by 7/4.
We also eat at the Jazz Corner. I now have a new favorite restaurant. The food was great and so was the music. Wonderful service too.
