We are considering a vacation in Myrtle Beach next year (summer %26#39;07). We are a family of 4, my husband, 2 kids ages 15 %26amp; 9 and myself. What places are affordable, nice accomodations? Never been to Myrtle Beach....what else would you recommend for entertainment, etc. The beach is our #1 thing we would like to spend our time. Thank you!!!

Now is a great time to start planning for next year, and locking in some of those inexpensive accomodations, as they become a premium as your travel dates near....I would look at possibly a condo option or even a beach house...this would give you the option of ';eating in';, maybe picking up some local seafood and cooking it up at home....plus the extra space is nice...check out some of the condos on www.vrbo.com These are condos that are individually owned, and you can narrow it down to in what area of MB you would like to stay...another great website that I have used for booking friends and family is www.booerealty.com. They have 2 really cute beach houses that we have rented over the years, and really for the room in them and the convienence they were cheap!
Gosh, there is so much to do here....this site is a great search tool, so explore some of the other postings for all the options your family will have....Broadway at the Beach (www.broadwayatthebeach.com) Barefoot Landing (www.bflanding.com) Both of these places are great and both have weekly fireworks..Tuesday at Broadway and Monday atBarefoot...then you have shopping, NasCar Speedpark, Myrtle Waves water park...deep sea fishing, pirate cruises, dolphin adventures, banana boat rides, parasail.....the list is endless! But our beach is top notch! Wide, white sand with a bit of wave on the water, but not alot!

Lots of things to do.
Check out (www.broadwayatthebeach.com) Most of the things I will be doing are there. Nice area and near nice hotels.
Also Barefoot Landing (www.barefootlanding.com)
I like those selections because everything is sort of in one area and you won%26#39;t have to drive from here-to-there-to-here. I know our first time in Myrtle, I was completely lost. I couldn%26#39;t understand the North Myrtle Beach, North End of Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, etc. etc. etc. So for Broadway @ the Beach to have such a large number of activities it is great.
-Nicer hotels are all up and down the 60 mile stretch of Myrtle Beach.
-Affordable are probably more toward the northern end of Myrtle or southern end of Myrtle.
We are staying at the Brekers Paradise Towers (www.breakers.com) Nice clean beach and nice clean pool attractions.
Also with the ages of your kids, you and your husband would probably want a separate room from the kids. So try getting one of the 2-Bedroom suites. Breakers paradise has a nice one, Hampton Inn Oceanfront, Compass Cove (Mariner Building is better slow elevators in the Pinnacle building), Grande Shores Resort.
If you are staying more than 4-5 days. I would suggest renting a condo or house. It can get very expensive for a family of 4 to stay 7 days or more in a hotel unless they have special deals like if you stay 5 nights get a 6-7th night free only certain times of the year.
Check North Myrtle and Myrtle locations on vrbo.com. Rentals by owner with lots of pictures and prices.
We are MB junkies, and leaving Wed. to go. We stay every June at Kingston Plantation (North Myrtle Beach), you can stay in the hotel or rent a condo. Great place for kids, activities all the time for them with the Kids Club!
I%26#39;ve already booked a week for next June. I%26#39;m renting a condo from an owner in the Breakers Paradise Towers. We%26#39;ve never done this before. We%26#39;ve always stayed in a hotel and booked from the resort. I%26#39;m excited and somewhat nervous. I%26#39;m reading reviews left and right on here and on yahoo. Everything I%26#39;ve read about renting condos from an owner sounds favorable...the only reviews that bother me are about the litter and dirty pools (I%26#39;ve read a lot of those). I hope these people are wrong. It%26#39;s going to be a long year, just waiting for 2007, but I%26#39;m glad I got it booked early. If anyone has anything good or bad to say about the condos at Paradise Towers, I%26#39;d appreciate anything at all. If it%26#39;s bad, I can prepare. If it%26#39;s good, I can relax more. It%26#39;ll be a 3 bedroom/ 2 bathroom in the center on the 15th floor.
*bump* :-) It%26#39;s unit 1570...anyone ever stayed in it?
TIA :-)
